A labour of love: Ottawa’s long-awaited birth centre set to open Monday

The doors open Monday morning and, soon after, a baby’s first cry should make the opening of Ottawa’s first stand-alone birth centre official. The Ottawa Birth and Wellness Centre will be ready and waiting for the first mother in labour to come through its doors beginning next week, and it shouldn’t have to wait long, says executive director Wendy Grimshaw.
