School-board officials seeking a place for a new elementary school in Kanata chose a property in a high-tech industrial park because the city’s own staff led them to believe the rezoning it needed wouldn’t be a problem, frustrated trustees told city council’s planning committee Tuesday. The city’s planner helped them pick the property, Ottawa-Carleton District School Board vice-chair Shirley Seward said, knowing the board is desperate because it’s short 700 primary-school spaces in that part of the city.
