The federal government is all but moved out of an Elgin Street office building belonging to a prominent businessman known partly for his loans to former senator Mac Harb. The concrete-clad building, which has had three storeys of offices underneath a hotel tower, was the controversial location of a parole office. Nearby residents didn’t like it so close to Elgin Street Public School and fought for years to have it moved after it opened in 2004, when Harb’s Liberals were in power.
