Response to story about violent men shows domestic abuse’s terrible toll

OTTAWA — Just before Christmas, the Citizen published a story I wrote about Scott Thompson, a 51-year-old Kemptville resident. Under the eye-catching headline, “I was a walking time bomb,” Thompson described his journey from childhood sexual abuse victim and angry, abusive husband and father to a calmer man who found inner peace after going through a program run by the Men’s Project, a non-profit counselling service in Ottawa.
