The storm is expected to begin as snow before it changes to freezing rain then rain as the temperature rises Friday morning.
The highest amount of rainfall is expected in southern Ontario, but eastern Ontario will also see significant rainfall.
There is concern about water accumulation from melting snow, caused by a high around 7 C on Friday. The City of Ottawa says it’s planning for large puddles along many roads and asks residents to call 311 if they see a dangerously large puddle.
