Ottawa – Mayor Jim Watson and Councillor David Chernushenko will officially name the main hall of the Old Ottawa South Community Centre, at 260 Sunnyside Avenue, “Michael Jenkin Hall,” at a ceremony on Friday, March 7.
Mr. Jenkin served as the president of the Old Ottawa South Community Association for over 10 years, and served many years prior as a volunteer board member.
During that time, his greatest accomplishment was the creation of the community centre. Mr. Jenkin actively raised funds and oversaw the design and construction of this facility.
The renovation of the community centre would not have been possible without Mr. Jenkin’s everlasting devotion and commitment.
