Defamation lawsuit filed in spat between rival hoedown organizers

OTTAWA — Call it the throwdown over the hoedowns. The organizer of Ottawa’s troubled Capital Hoedown country music festival, Denis Benoit, has filed a $250,000 lawsuit against the founder of the O-Town Hoedown country music festival, Greg Harris, alleging that Harris defamed him in a pair of online blog posts.
