We drove here at the end of May, about two months ago. As we were not PRs coming here for landing, we did not take care about the car import issues, and did not meet any problem at the entry border. But one should change driver's licence and the plate of the car if one will live here in Canada longer than 45 days. We did that because we did not want to face any trouble here. Driver's licence changing cost $50(CAD)/per person, plate changing cost totally more than $600(CAD). Because one has to do safety and emission check in order to get ones car be registered. For our case, even though our car runs great, it still did not pass the safety check at Canadian Tire (one of the companies appointed offically), the companies sure will ask you to change something so that they can earn money. The safety and emission check finally cost us about $450(CAD). It is not very bad, anyway.
