Boston Marathon bombing motivates Ottawa runner’s fundraiser

Brent Smyth has one lasting image embedded in his memory after the 2013 Boston Marathon: a frightened child being comforted and carried to safety by someone with the courage to act. Smyth, an IT manager with the National Research Council, was a spectator at the Boston Marathon when two bombs detonated on Boylston Street, killing three people and injuring hundreds more.
