Ottawa – Rehabilitation and improvement work begins Monday on the overpass that takes vehicles from Heron Road East onto Bronson Avenue North. Traffic on the overpass will be reduced to one lane, plus a pedestrian/cyclist pathway until August.
Work to the overpass consists of bridge repairs, deck replacement, upgrades to bridge barriers, improvements to roadway lighting and approach-roadway upgrades.
Intermittent single-lane closures will be required in each direction on Heron Road, underneath the overpass, typically between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
OC Transpo buses will operate through this area as scheduled. Commuters are reminded to exercise caution around work areas. For more information, visit ottawa.ca.
The Heron Road overpass is an Ottawa on the Move project. Ottawa on the Move is about keeping our community and economy moving forward through strategic investments in a number of transportation, water, and sewer projects to build a better city and create jobs.
