Mandela Square latest city real estate to be named after someone famous

Billy Bishop, Marion Dewar and Stompin’ Tom Connors now have something in common with the late South African icon Nelson Mandela — they have something in Canada’s capital city named after them. On Wednesday, Ottawa city council unanimously approved a plan to name the lawn around the human rights monument on Elgin Street Nelson Mandela Square.
