NCC skateway shelters along Rideau Canal undamaged by surprise flood

The National Capital Commission’s pricey new chalets along the Rideau Canal Skateway appear to have escaped significant damage after being engulfed by an unexpected flood this week. The four change rooms and three public washrooms, which cost the NCC an average of $750,000 each, were inundated early Wednesday when Parks Canada released water at the Hog’s Back Lock.
