Ottawa – OC Transpo will operate a holiday schedule on Good Friday and Easter Monday. Effective Sunday, April 20, OC Transpo will introduce spring service improvements and some reductions that reflect the lower seasonal demand for service. The Rack & Roll program also returns April 20 and runs until the end of October, with bike racks reinstalled on close to 500 buses.
Easter Holiday Service
On Good Friday, April 18, a Sunday service will operate, so only those routes that normally run on Sundays will be in service. On Easter Monday, April 21, a reduced weekday service will operate and the scheduled arrival times of buses may vary. All routes numbered in the 600s and supplementary school trips will not operate. Route 201 will operate, and the O-Train schedule will be unchanged.
On Good Friday, as well as Saturdays and Sundays, a family can ride all day with one $7.95 DayPass. A ‘family’ can include up to six people with a maximum of two ages 13 or older.
OC Transpo Sales Centres will be closed Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Easter Monday, except the Rideau Centre office which will be open on Easter Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Telephone Information Centre will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Good Friday and from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Easter Monday. The Customer Relations Department will be closed Good Friday and Easter Monday.
Para Transpo regular scheduled trips are automatically cancelled for Good Friday and Easter Monday. Regular scheduled trips for Easter Sunday are not cancelled. Passengers may book trips for those holidays by calling 613-244-7272.
Spring service highlights:
2013-14 U-Pass Expires April 30
Students at Carleton University, the University of Ottawa and Saint Paul University are reminded that their 2013-14 U‑Pass expires April 30, and will not be valid as a photo ID card during the summer. From May through August, only students ages 19 and younger are eligible to buy a discounted student pass. Visit an OC Transpo Sales Centre, with proof of eligibility, to buy a Presto card ($6) and have it set with a student concession. A Presto card can be set up to pay-per-ride or per month, does not have a photo, and when not in use is transferable to another person in the same fare category.
Schedule information is available 24 hours a day, up to six days in advance, by calling 613-560-1000 or texting 560560 plus the four‑digit bus stop number. New printed timetables are now available. For more details and travel planning assistance, customers should call OC Transpo at 613-741-4390 or visit www.octranspo.com.
