Nearly $2.8 billion that the provincial government was expecting from an overhaul of its gambling agency is at risk because of “overly optimistic assumptions” about things like cities’ willingness to host new casinos and gamblers’ willingness to flock to a new Internet gaming site, the province’s auditor general says.
