Hobbs wants city to pay to clean up Wellington Street brownfield

Katherine Hobbs wants the city to pay the entire cost of cleaning up a contaminated site in Wellington Village so that a developer can finally build something on the property. In a motion to the finance committee, the Kitchissippi councillor is asking for a special exemption for 1445 and 1451 Wellington St. W., under the city’s brownfields policy, to cover the full cost of rehabilitating the land.
