I am planning to buy some appliance (fridge, stove, dryer and washer).
Is it necessary to buy insurance for them?

No. You should however get a property insurance that includes the content of your property.

thanks for your reply.

Two more questions:
For new house, Is it better to buy comprehensive insurance?
Does it include property insurance?

New homes MUST have insurance before getting the keys. Lawyers won't sign the required documents until you show them the proof of property insurance.

Property insurance normally includes "personal property (contents) replacement cost". Also make sure to get additonal water damage coverage (ground water), it is usually NOT included.

On my policy, ground water is an additonal coverage at $36/year.

A blanket coverage of 449,000 includes:
a-dwelling building
b-detached private structures
c-presonal property (contents) replacement cost
d-addtional living expense and fiar rental value following an insured loss

I'm also covered for:
-inflation protection -- included
-special limits of insurance applicable to coverage c - personal property (contents) -- included
-additonal living expense and fair rental value resulting from mass evacuation -- included
-fire, explosion and smoke damage resulting from an earthquake (excluding any other damage) -- included
-guaranteed replacement cost for dwelling building -- included
-extension of coverage to seepage and weight of ice, snow or wet snow -- $7
-additional water damage coverage (ground water) -- $36

e-legal liability $1,000,000 included
f-voluntary medical payments $5,000 included
g-voluntary payment for damage to property $1,000 included

Deductible: $500
Annual premium (taxes included): $362.88 from The Personal Insurance
