Ottawa – Beginning Tuesday, May 20, the section of Belfast Road between Tremblay Road and Trainyards Drive will be closed for construction. Pedestrian and cyclist access will be maintained, however motorists are advised to detour on St. Laurent Boulevard. Signs have been posted advising the public of the detour. Businesses in the area remain open as usual.
This closure is necessary to complete the relocation of existing utilities and the construction of tunnel structures to the new Maintenance and Storage Facility on Belfast Road. This facility will house the operations, maintenance and storage facilities for the Confederation Line, Ottawa’s Light Rail Transit (LRT) project.
