Ottawa – It will be a fun-filled day of activities for all ages, and everyone is invited! It’s hard to believe the Shenkman Arts Centre is celebrating its fifth anniversary. The focus of anniversary celebrations will be on creative visual arts, music, and culinary arts during this jam-packed day of fun for the whole family. Activities and entertainment will be in keeping with the Centre’s dedication to supporting local talent and bilingualism.
Admission is free.
Date: Saturday, May 31, 2014
Time: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: Shenkman Arts Centre
(245 Centrum Boulevard)
The Shenkman Arts Centre in the east Ottawa community of Orléans is a creative hub where artists and audiences meet to create and explore the arts. It is Ottawa’s only multidisciplinary arts facility offering services and programs in both English and French and it is a wonderful example of the benefits of a public-private partnership (P3).
Operated by the City of Ottawa, the Centre offers a diversity of programs and activities that bring art to life in the Centre, a variety attributed to a unique collaboration with the Centre’s Resident Arts Partners: AOE Arts Council, Gloucester Pottery School, MIFO, Ottawa School of Art–Orléans Campus and OYP Theatre School. The Centre is also home to Resident Company Tara Luz Danse and ARTicipate, a one-of-a-kind endowment fund that supports innovative programming at the Centre.
