Ottawa – The Ottawa Stadium field is available for rent until September, 2014, providing community teams and organizations with a unique opportunity to play at this big-league facility.
“The field is a premium-level ball diamond suitable for recreational baseball, softball, slow-pitch, cricket and ultimate,” said Mayor Jim Watson. “Bookings this year are double what they were in 2013 and we are very encouraged to see so many teams planning to hit the field this season.”
The field is available during daylight hours at rates of $37.55 per hour for minor leagues, $110.50 per hour for adult leagues, and $116 per hour for commercial leagues.
“We encourage teams and organization to take advantage of this opportunity and to book the stadium field as soon as possible to avoid disappointment,” said Councillor Mark Taylor, Chair of the City’s Community and Protective Services Committee. “Players in adult and minor leagues can experience that big-league excitement when they step on the field and this great opportunity is proving to be very popular with local teams.”
The field and parking lot are centrally located and available for rent by sports clubs, community organizations, and private or commercial groups by contacting City Wide Allocations, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at 613-580-2595, by email at sports@ottawa.ca, or in-person on the first floor of Ben Franklin Place (101 Centrepointe Drive).
