The Ottawa airport sent out a warning on social media Friday about a possible telephone scam.
Krista Kealey, a spokeswoman for the airport, said they have received several from concerned residents who say they were called about a contest that was run by the airport.
Kealey added that they have only done two contests in the last 12 years but none of them involved calling contestants.
“There is no contest in place, we have never had such a contest and we just warn against anybody who is asking for any personal information. It’s not coming from us,” Kealey said.
The airport’s security department was going to look into the possible scam, but no further information was immediately available.
