Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Ottawa region, warning of “significant rainfall” expected to begin late Wednesday and continuing through to Friday.
The statement was issued midday Tuesday and covers Ottawa North-Kanata-Orleans and Ottawa South-Richmond-Metcalfe. Environment Canada says a low pressure system will begin to affect the region late Wednesday, bringing heavy rain and the possibility of thunderstorms. The system is expected to move slowly, raising the risk of significant rainfall, in some cases of more than 40 millimetres.
