Umbrellas might not be enough to keep Ottawans dry Thursday.
Environment Canada issued a warning Tuesday evening for “significant” rainfall Thursday with the potential for flash flooding.
Heavy downpours are expected from late morning through the afternoon, with between 50 and 70 millimetres of rain descending on the Ottawa area. That amount could be even higher if thunderstorms develop.
Drivers are cautioned that significant water pooling could hamper their afternoon commute.
