Ottawa – It’s all about Dad this Sunday as the City of Ottawa’s five museums celebrate Father’s Day, June 15. Each museum has special events planned that will let you pay tribute to dad while spending time together as a family.
If the dad in your life is into antique cars, then check out the annual Antique Car Show at Billings Estate National Historic Site. The Nepean Museum will showcase an antique police car, ambulance and fire truck.
If board games, mini-putt and vintage pastimes are right up his alley, head to Cumberland Heritage Village Museum, or make a stop at Fairfields Heritage House for vintage lawn games and a barbecue.
Pinhey’s Point Historic Site, on the scenic banks of the Ottawa River, will showcase heritage trades including blacksmithing and woodworking.
The City museums are open on Father’s Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the exception of the Nepean Museum, which is open from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission fees apply. For more information, visit ottawa.ca/museums.
