Ottawa – The City of Ottawa will hold its eleventh annual AccessAbility Day event in partnership with Carleton University’s International Summit on Accessibility 2014 that runs from July 12 to 15 at the Ottawa Convention Centre. Registration is free for the opening plenary session that will feature The Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, who is the Honorary Chair of the summit.

Making it Happen: From Intention to Action, is the theme of the 2014 summit. Participants may enjoy a visit to the Boulevard of Possibilities Resource Fair following the opening plenary. Participants will also have an opportunity to hear from Keynote speakers, Rich Donovan, CEO, The Return on Disability Group, and Randy Lewis, former Senior Vice President of Walgreens (USA).
The summit is organized by Carleton University with support from the government of Ontario, the City of Ottawa, TD, and other sponsors. The City of Ottawa is committed to creating a barrier-free city for its residents, visitors and employees regardless of their visible or non-visible disabilities, and continues to support the goal of provincial legislation called the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
Registration is free for the opening plenary and resource fair but space is limited (additional sessions are available with the purchase of a day pass).
