Ottawa – The City of Ottawa is providing an opportunity for older adults to explore the various city services that are available to them. Information booths will be set up on Wednesday, June 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Hall A of the Kanata Recreation Complex (110 Walter Baker Place).
City of Ottawa staff will also be on-hand to answer questions and share information on the various City services – ranging from active living to specific supports that meet the unique needs and choices of older adults.
The information expo is part of the Kanata Seniors’ Social, hosted by Kanata South Ward Councillor Allan Hubley. The social provides visitors with entertainment and an opportunity to network with their fellow neighbours.
The City stands committed to becoming an age-friendly and caring community that values the contributions of older adults. As a result, it has created an Older Adult Plan that will help enhance the quality of life of older adults in our community by improving access to essential supports, programs and services.
People who are planning to attend are reminded that passengers, aged 65 and over, can ride free with OC Transpo every Wednesday.
