The Transportation Safety Board is investigating after an Ornge air ambulance helicopter and a FedEx airbus nearly collided last month at the Ottawa airport.
On May 6, an Ornge helicopter was taxiing for departure when an air traffic controller told the pilot to stop before entering runway 25.
The pilot received that order and read it back, according to the TSB.
“A risk of collision occurred when the helicopter crossed the runway stop line without authorization while a Federal Express airbus A300B4-622R was landing on runway 25,” the Transportation Safety Board said.
