The Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation announced its new director and CEO Tuesday.
Alex Benay will take on both roles and manage the organization’s day-to-day operations, which include 225 workers and a $33-million annual budget for three museums — the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, and the Canada Science and Technology Museum.
“Alex Benay is an exceptional leader with the capacity to heighten the CSTMC profile as the only national museum institution entirely dedicated to tracking Canada’s rich history and heritage in science, technology and innovation,” said Gary Polonsky, chair of the CSTMC Board of Trustees, in Tuesday’s release.
Benay replaced Fernand Proulx, who had been both president and CEO since June 2013.
