Meat lovers at the kickoff of Ottawa Ribfest Wednesday might be in for a shock as three PETA members are planning to stage a protest against the meat industry.
They are expected to be wearing nothing but tattoo markings that mimic a butcher’s diagram of body and will standing behind a poster that reads “All Animals Have the Same Parts — Try Vegan.”
The group says the message is that animals have the same bodily organs, five senses and emotions as humans.
The protest is expected to start at noon at the northwest corner of Sparks Street and O’Connor Street.
