Summer is here: Hit the beaches, but behave

Lifeguards are standing by at the city’s four main beaches in time for a beautiful first weekend of summer.

Britannia, Westboro, Petrie Island and Mooney’s Bay are all expecting healthy as the weather is looking positively gorgeous.

Meanwhile, police in the capital region will be out in force tonight as forces stage a ‘multi-jurisdictional’ RIDE campaign to try to reduce impaired driving.

Participating police forces include Ottawa, Gatineau, RCMP, OPP, Sûreté du Québec, MRC des Collines police and military police.
