The Ottawa Police Service is asking for the public’s help finding a suspect in two Monday bank robberies.
The Lincoln Heights banks were targeted less than two hours apart.
In the first, police say a man entered a bank on the 1400 block of Richmond Road at around 5:30 p.m. He handed a note to a teller that claimed he had a weapon and demanding money.
He was handed an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen running toward Lincoln Heights Mall.
At about 7:20 p.m., police said the same suspect, likely between 25 and 35 years old, hit a second bank on the same block of Richmond Road.
Again, he presented a note demanding money and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male with pale complexion, red or blond hair and stained teeth, with a thin build. He is approximately 6’0″ and 150 lbs, and at the time of the robberies, he was wearing a bright orange construction style jacket, jeans and sneakers.
Police ask anyone with information to contact the Robbery Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5116 or Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477 (TIPS) or toll free at 1-800-222-8477.
