Well,4.5 on the written test of CANTEST is pretty difficult to get according to the previous experiences.What do you mean "intensive courses in ESL"?Is that the 1-2 month course to improve your scores of CANTEST?If so,there is no different level in it.People taking this course are all going to take CANTEST anyway.Good luck.

我申请了今年的engineering, 不过上周收到了拒信，我以为没戏了，可前几天猛然有收到了个conditional offer, 他说
"you must register in one full session(i.e.,12weeks) of intensive non-credit courses in english as a second language offered by the second language institute and obtain a minimum score of 4.5 on the cantest before you can register to courses of your chosen program of studies”

我对这些不是很明白，cantest 4.5是怎么算的，这个语言是分级的吗？toefl考到多少就不用读这个了 不是237吧。
大家帮我看一下，能有建议最好了。

i took the cantest before, I got 5 , and writing first time 3.5, second time 4.5, my experience is the except writing, the other part is easier than toefl.

if u can get 4.5 for writing and 580 for general then u don;t need to take the esl course. But better hurry up, otherwise it's too late to be admitted to regular program. good luck
