A precautionary boil water advisory has been lifted Tuesday for Carp residents and the water is now safe for consumption, according to Ottawa Public Health.
The advisory came after a water main break Monday due to “private construction activity,” that resulted in a loss of water pressure at more than 150 homes in the area.
Residents were asked to bring their water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for drinking, washing dishes or brushing their teeth.
Residents are now advised to run the cold water for a minute before they start using it. Officials added that water system repairs such as flushing can disturb sediments present in water main pipes and can result in reddish brown or yellow coloured tap water.
