Two 15-year-old girls from Ottawa have been arrested and charged with mischief Saturday after a package containing a fake bomb was found downtown Monday.
The hoax explosive device was called in to police around 11:15 p.m. in the McDonalds restaurant at 99 Rideau St.
Police were asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the two in connection with the incident Friday. At the time they were described as a caucasian woman and a black woman, both between 18 and 25 years old.
Police also released surveillance video stills of the pair.
Police said both girls would appear in court “at a later date.”
