Ottawa firefighters were on the scene near Woodlawn late Saturday night with a patient who had suffered severe head trauma in an incident on the Ottawa River.
The person was reportedly in a boat on the river when the trauma occurred. By the time fire services arrived, the person was out of the water and was breathing.
Fire services were called to a point near Lane Street and Bayview Drive in Ottawa’s west end, around 11:45 p.m. Saturday. The caller had reportedly heard a “thud” and people screaming for someone to call 911.
Emergency services are investigating.
