Ottawa police said there were seven arrests this year in connection with Canada Day festivities, down from 23 arrests on July 1 last year.
Police said all but one of the arrests were for non-criminal matters.
They would not say what charges were laid in the criminal arrest.
Last year, unsurprisingly, most arrests were for public intoxication.
