Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux was arrested on a sexual assault charge in Ottawa on Canada Day for allegedly grabbing the buttocks of a male police officer.
Police said they believed 26-year-old Giroux was intoxicated when they arrested him around 9 p.m. Tuesday in the ByWard Market.
Giroux spent the night at the Ottawa police cellblock on Elgin Street.
By Wednesday morning, no charges had been laid against Giroux.
