The water rescue crews for Ottawa Fire Services had a business evening Wednesday, although both emergencies ended up being resolved without official intervention.
The first call came when crews responded to a kite boarder near Britannia Yacht Club just after 6 p.m.
By the time crews arrived, the boarder was safe and out of the water, but his board and kite were still in the Ottawa River.
Crews followed the floating equipment until they were called to another accident in the area of 113 Grandview.
By the time responders were at the scene, the boat had overturned twice, with the passengers re-embarking and headed towards Gatineau.
The Gatineau fire department confirmed crew and passengers were safely on shore.
