Now that school is out and temperatures are rising, wading pool season is starting in earnest.
Those wanting to get an extra splash out of their cool-down at Ottawa parks can attend a special event every Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., from July 10 until August 14.
Events include a free BBQ, a lunchtime performing art series from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., and other activities. Performers include theatre groups, dancers, musicians and martial artists.
The events will be held at Windsor Park, July 10; Britannia Park, July 17; Sylvia Holden Park, July 31; Jules Morin Park, July 31; Weston Park, Aug. 7; and Bellevue Manor Park, Aug. 14.
Each of the city’s 56 wading pools is also hosting an arts, crafts, sports and games day this summer. The events calendar with more details is available on the City of Ottawa website.
