Magdalena Kincaid said she never expected to share the stage with Lady Gaga after the pop star plucked her out of the crowd Saturday during her Bluesfest performance.

The 18-year-old Ottawa “little monster” shuffled onto the piano bench alongside her idol and the two belted out the lyrics to the song Gypsy. During the set, Gaga, who calls her fans little monsters, told Kincaid, “You’re my Gypsy princess tonight.” Soon later, she leans in to kiss Kincaid on the cheek. The crowd erupts.

“When I got up there it was like living a dream,” she said.

Kincaid, who will be studying fashion communication at Ryerson University, said she spent three days designing her outfit: white floral underwear, a see-through pink latex skirt and a pink and silver bedazzled seashell bra, which has given her the nickname “Seashell Girl.”

Magdalena Kincaid shared the stage with Lady Gaga at RBC Bluesfest in Ottawa on Saturday, July 6, 2014.

Kincaid was inspired by Gaga’s song “Venus” off her latest album ARTPOP, which references an Aphrodite lady in a seashell bikini. She decided to bring the words to life.

Michelle Treacy, a singer-songwriter from Ottawa, was pulled onstage last week in Montreal. After witnessing the spectacle, Kincaid said she was adamant on doing the same. She made a big sign to get Gaga’s attention and camped out so she could be in the front row.

Kincaid said it was the sixth time she had seen Gaga in concert, but said that Gaga puts a tremendous amount of effort into her shows and that seeing her live feels like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity because “every show is so different.”

“It was the happiest I’ve ever been,” she said.
