A construction worker was taken to hospital after being rescued by Ottawa firefighters who extricated him from a work-site trench where he’d been trapped.
Fire department officials said they were called to a construction site at 2200 Prince of Wales Dr. at about 4 p.m. after a worker was struck by a piece of machinery and knocked into a trench.
Firefighters freed the man and pulled him from the trench so that medical personnel could treat him before he was taken to hospital.
