À La Pêche man who called police to complain there weren’t enough officers on patrol soon found himself under arrest and charged with impaired driving.
And just for good measure, the officer nabbed another impaired driver while driving the first man to the police station.
The complaint came in Tuesday afternoon, according to Martin Fournel of the MRC des Collines de l’Outaouais. Dispatchers sent an officer to patrol the area and he promptly arrested the complainant — a 72-year-old man — as he drove away from a corner store.
Less than 30 minutes later, while driving his detainee to the station, the officer saw another car being driven erratically. It was stopped and the 53-year-old driver arrested. The officer also found open bottles of alcohol in the car, according to a media release.
Both men were taken to the police station, where they were given breathalyzer tests.
Each man faces a charge of impaired driving, police said.
