Less than a month after the Ontario provincial elections it’s time to think about polling stations and ballot boxes again, this time for the City of Ottawa’s election office.
With municipal elections coming up Oct. 27 and advance voting days Oct. 9 and Oct. 18, the city is looking for democracy enthusiasts to man voting stations.
Applicants should “understand the electoral process, learn quickly and possess good interpersonal skills,” according to the city.
People who have worked in previous elections are given priority. Bilingualism is “considered an asset” for applicants, who must be at least 16 and can’t be campaign workers or spouses of candidates.
People can apply online or call the elections office at (613) 580-2660 to get a paper application.
