It’s still two-and-a-half months away but the clock is ticking to register for one of Ottawa’s favourite running events.
The 5-km run is already sold out, with more than 13,000 people signed up, and the half-marathon is 90 per cent sold out for the 2014 Canada Army Run scheduled for Sept. 21.
Altogether organizers expect about 25,000 people to run, walk or roll along the route that takes participants along the Rideau Canal, the Ottawa River and through the Rideau Hall properties.
Proceeds from the race and participants’ fundraising go towards the Soldier On and Military Families Fund organizations.
People can still register online to nab one of the remaining half-marathon spots.
The first run was held in 2008 with 7,000 participants.
