Ottawa – City Council today approved a new heritage designation by-law for the Horticulture Building at Lansdowne.
In 2010 as part of the approval process for the redevelopment of Lansdowne, Council approved the repeal of the heritage designation by-law of the Horticulture Building and the relocation of the building. Council also directed that a new heritage designation by-law be brought forward once the building had been relocated.
Renovations to the Horticulture Building currently underway include the construction of a new north end and entrance, and the restoration of the original windows.
Located within the urban green space of Lansdowne Park, the Horticulture Building includes an open space for future community use and events and additional bathrooms for park users.
