Ottawa – On Sunday, July 13, from approximately 6 to 7:30 a.m., a number of street closures in the 300-metre exclusion zone will be in place during the controlled implosion by Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) of the Sir John Carling Building that overlooks Dow’s Lake.
Streets in the area within 300 metres of the implosion site, including nearby sections of Carling Avenue and Prince of Wales Drive, will be completely closed and will feature ‘No Stopping – Tow Away Zone’ signage.
Street closures include the following:
A recommended public viewing area is available at Commissioners Park at Dow’s Lake. Roads should reopen to the public sometime after 7:30 a.m.

- Birch Drive from Maple Drive to the National Capital Commission Scenic Driveway
- Bayswater Avenue from Carling Avenue to Sherwood Drive
- Loretta Avenue from Carling Avenue to Hickory Street
- Champagne Avenue from Carling Avenue to Hickory Street
