Five face trafficking and weapons charges in Gatineau drug bust

After a five-week investigation, Gatineau police have arrested six people in connection with drugs and weapons seized at three addresses on Boulevard de la Cité in Gatineau.

Residences at 192, 193 and 348 Boul. de la Cité were searched under warrant. Police seized 32 grams of cocaine, 20 speed pills, a taser, a gun, brass knuckles, an expandable baton, seven cellphones, two vehicles and $8,400 in cash.

Four men between the ages of 38 and 45 were arrested, along with a 42-year-old woman and a 36-year-old woman. Some of the suspects are known to police. Their names have not been released.

All six people were released from custody. Five of the people are charged with drug possession, drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of illegal weapons and drug trafficking. They will appear in court at a later date.

The sixth person was released without charges.
