Police close street, evacuate homes as part of tactical operation in south end

Police have closed part of an Ottawa street as a tactical team executes a search warrant in the city’s south end.

The tactical officers were joined on Topley Crescent on Friday by members of the police chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosives unit.

Several nearby homes were evacuated between Keys Way and Karsh Drive, and the public was being asked to avoid the area.

Police said they could not immediately provide any additional information.
