Warnings have been issued for Prescott-Russell, Cornwall, Maxville, Morrisburg and Winchester, where Environment Canada says the region will be under the influence of of a ‘Bermuda High’-type pressure system.

The agency says older adults, infants and young children, the homeless, people with chronic illnesses and people who work and exercise in heat and people without air conditioning are at the greatest risk of heat illnesses.

Meanwhile, for the Ottawa area, it’s expected to be sunny, with a mix of sun and cloud beginning around noon.

The UV index is expected to be 9, or very high.

Tonight is expected to see showers with beginning before morning with a risk of a thunderstorm before morning.

The low is forecast at 19 C and is forecast to usher in lower than normal temps for the rest of the week, with highs in the low 20s.
