Algonquin College is to announce its eighth president Thursday morning.
The announcement is set for 11 a.m. from the Woodroffe Campus and will also be streamed live from the school’s website.
Outgoing president Kent MacDonald has held the position since 2012 but will be leaving Ottawa to serve as president of St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, one of his alma maters.
MacDonald’s last day is the end of this month and the incoming president will start on Aug. 25.
After the announcement, the new president will travel to the campus in Perth.
Algonquin also has a campus in Pembroke.
