Ottawa – Ottawa Board of Health member Councillor Shad Qadri, Councillor Mark Taylor, Chair of the Community and Protective Services Committee, College Councillor Rick Chiarelli and Kaitrin Doll, Co-Chair of the Poverty and Hunger Working Group will launch the MarketMobile on Saturday.
This innovative new project will use a chartered OC Transpo bus to bring affordable fresh fruit and vegetables to Ottawa neighbourhoods that have limited access to fresh produce.
The project is a collaboration of public, private and community partners including the Coalition of Community Health and Resource Centres, Ottawa Public Health, Ottawa Community Housing and Loblaws Rideau.
Date: Saturday, July 26
Time: 11 a.m.
Location: Morrison Gardens (985-A Morrison Drive), northwest of intersection of Greenbank Road and Baseline Road
Street parking is available on Draper Avenue
The event will feature photo opportunities on the MarketMobile bus and food preparation demonstrations by Ottawa Public Health Community Food Advisors.
